Daily Food
Diary
Do you feel at the peak of health? If not, why not? We all
have some health problems in life, ranging from simple
frustrations to life-threatening conditions and everything in
between.
When you are young, you may not make a connection between
the food you eat and how you feel. As we get older, we are more
likely to question the foods we eat and how they may impact on
our overall health.
When you were twenty, a load of French fries didn't seem to
make a bit of difference in the way you felt or how you looked.
Now, at forty, those same French fries may well give you
indigestion and a lb or two on the hips.
Having said that the young are no exception to food
discomfort. Perhaps you are lactose intolerant or maybe
allergic to nuts. When you were young, you are better able to
weather the poor food choices and may be entirely unaware of
allergies that will come back to haunt you in your later
years.
A daily food diary can save you many a heartache and a dozen
visits to your doctor. Even if you're not plagued with adverse
health conditions now, keeping a food diary can expose dietary
weaknesses. Maybe even help you in the long run.
Whether you are young or old, your food diary will give you
the means to monitor what you eat each day and week. While
comparing what kind of effects your food menus have on you and
how you feel after eating each meal.
Your daily food diary should form a journal. Make sure you
included every thing you have. Have a column for the date and
time, the food item and amount, with a column for notes. Snacks
count.
Example:
DAY 1
Date:
Breakfast: Time: Calories: Total

This is just an example, you can make it any way you like,
included maybe where you ate lunch (at your desk), you could
say what your mood was like (bored or happy). If you have no
idea check on the internet always load of ideas there.
So often, we eat without thinking about it. The pounds pile
on and we wonder where did they come from. That is why a food
diary is useful to have and keep. You will work out your weak
times and know what to do to avoid having that bag of crisps or
chocolate.
If you are honest with yourself when you do this, the daily
food diary will itemizes every little thing you have, even if
its just one sweet you must put it down.
What about the foods you crave? Keeping a daily food diary
will allow you to eat as you normally do, while, day by day,
revealing those foods you eat too much or too little off.
We all think we eat the right types of food but do we really
eat them, now is the chance for you to find out.
Keeping a keen eye on the calories and the nutrition you
eat, will show up all the good and bad eating patterns you
have.
The daily food diary may well expose just where you are
going wrong.
If you have been feeling poorly
of late but don't know why, take your diary with you went you
next go to your doctor's appointment. It might help your
doctor.
Do not only do this for yourself but for the while family,
keeping an eye on what they are eating. Watching what they eat
will make a big difference to how their health turns out in
years to come.
